This CME-certified interactive video series invites you to sit in the driver's seat and make choices on best-practice approaches to reducing cardiorenal risk in people with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
NOTE: This educational activity is intended for an international audience of non-US and non-UK HCPs.
By taking part in the interactive video series, you will learn about CKD screening and staging in people with type 2 diabetes, how CKD is linked to other comorbidities and the importance of a holistic approach to management. Moreover, you will have hands-on practice in the application of recommendations for reducing cardiorenal risk, and learn about the randomized trial data supporting the guidelines.
Global (non-UK and non-US) primary care and specialist healthcare professionals (HCPs) are eligible to take this course. These HCPs include endocrinologists, diabetologists, primary care physicians and other HCPs involved in the management of type 2 diabetes and its comorbidities.
To obtain your IDF Certificate of Completion and one European CME credit, you should work through the content in the following order.
You must complete all the sections of this online course to be awarded the IDF “Certificate of Completion” and one European CME credit.
The European Accreditation Council accredits this online course for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME). 1 European CME credit (ECMEC®) will be awarded on successful completion of this course.
Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) and the American Medical Association (AMA), physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. This course is open to global (non-UK and non-US) health professionals involved in the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes and its comorbidities—such as endocrinologists, diabetologists, primary care physicians, and others.
In order to complete the course and obtain the certificate and one European CME credit, you will need to register first to the School webpage. Once you have subscribed, you can start the course by filling out the initial self-evaluation. After that, you will have to take a Pre-test consisting of eight questions. Once you have filled and submitted it, you can start the eLearning module. When you complete the module, you will need to respond to the eight Post-test learning questions. To see your progress after the course, we ask you to complete the final self-evaluation. Finally, once you have given your feedback of the course, you will be able to download your certificate.
To apply, you should go to https://www.idfdiabeteschool.org/, click on Register and provide the information asked. Once you are registered, click on Free Courses, and then on Type 2 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease. After that, you can start learning.
